Moon Flower

After wearing so much floral this spring and summer, I'm growing a bit tired of it. But, alas, here I am again. After a stint of unseasonably cool temps, the July heat made a triumphant return, so I hacked the hem of a skirt from my Etsy shop that hadn't sold and paired it with a tube top. I thought since the skirt was knit fabric, I could get away with a raw hem. I was wrong. As you can see, it started fraying like crazy, so I might have to actually finish it. Oh well, the scraggly strings along with the fedora covering up my unwashed hair kind of add to the grungy hipster feel of this look. Oh, and sorry for the night picture. Didn't get around to photographing till bedtime!

I'm loving the print of this skirt! And I think the night time photo worked out nicely. Fun contrast to your summery, day look here.

Also, I want your necklace! :)

I like the florals, I don't think you over-do it at all. I would however try to get my hands on a serger...lol...but I totally understand, I just cut up a top the other day minutes before having to go to work, sewing can be so cumbersome.

you should sew the skirt to the tube top and turn it into a romper. it would be....amazing.

Sorry...Looks like a homeless outfit.

I know what you mean 'bout the florals, I feel like it's been roadkill, the only ones I can stand is the ones not too many people overdose on, but the 90's short dresses with pastellelelel colours, like Brittany Murphy in "Falling Sky."

But your title, Moonflower, made me cackle, because it was an old graffiti name of mine "back in the day". But yeah, it was a compound name.

Have yourself a very merry nice day.

Weird that it unraveled so much but, it does look pretty sweet. I like the nighttime photo too! Great post.
