Dress: Forever 21, $19 // Sweater: Thrifted, $10 // Scarf: Gift // Boots: alice + olivia for Payless
Despite a dreadfully dreary week, I was thinking today about how much I adore October. It may be my favorite month. Crisp autumn air is setting in. The leaves are beginning to turn. Hot cider is flowing. Pumpkins and candy are plentiful. Okay, this is starting to sound like a bad poem written for some high school creative writing class, so I will refrain. You get the idea! This is the first time I've worn this dress. It's kind of strange--almost a sleeveless trench--so I think next time I might layer it over another dress. Today I wore it with a wool turtleneck, silk scarf, tights and boots that remind me of Edward Scissorhands, which is one of my favorite movies and absolutely perfect for my October-y mood. Do you have a favorite month?

awwww i like your dress! the shape is neat.
I adore that dress. I totally want something with a tulip hem right now. And October is by far my favorite month. Halloween + my birthday... can't go wrong.
That dress is super cute!
I hate October. It's that time of year when I'm just so over working and hanging out for summer and holidays. Halloween is not really celebrated in NZ.
I think December / January would be my favourite months because of summer, Christmas and holidays from work!
October and April tie for my favorite months. And, I agree, that dress was totally made for layering. I love it w/ the sweater/tights and look forward to seeing what you do w/ it when you pair it with another dress.
i love your dress! so cute.
i think april is my favorite month..i love spring.
Oh how i love October too. Its actually been colder than normal here in Tulsa. I feel the snow coming.
Lovely dress! Edward Scissorhands is one of my absolute faves.

Oh, October is my favorite month. I live two hours south of Lawrence, so the leaves are changing, the weather is lusciously dreary, and the outfit layering fun can commence!
Plus I'm a horror fanatic and all the good horror movies play constantly this month.
Fall in general is my fave :) but I agree that this Kansas weather has been so dreary :(
but the colors are gorgeous!
GREAT boots! I love the outfit and the blue color to your photos! Amazing!
What a great outfit. I love your trench dress :)
I would say I have two favorite months: March and October. October for the obvious fall - awesomeness reasons and March because that's when spring finally starts, you hear birds tweeting everywhere and the flowers are starting to bloom(that sounds so cheesy, haha)
Oh, and my birthday is in March ;)
you have fall all sewn up,great look,it is now the turtleneck season and it tops off your outfit perfectly
October is my all time favorite month too! I just love everything about it (even if it has rained alot this month already).
Love that dress! You look amazing as always and I love how you tied it all together with that scarf. So pretty!
You are pretty cute, but I want to know what Igby is wearing in this cold wet weather.
such a cute look! love the boots and dress.
xx
it is definitely october! i love anything with pumpkin and butternut squash during this season. and going to haunted houses and on hayrides during the month are my favorite. ; )
p.s. i loved your description of the month, not a bad poem at all. it's all the little things that add up to the feeling the month gives us. : )
Great look. That is a great dress!

I don't know if I have a favorite month... A month's goodness always depends on how I'm doing I guess. I always like May though because it was the end of school, but now that I'm out of school I don't know how that will change!
Oh my gosh. I love that dress. Love your blog. I'm a new reader. You're so great! Love the dress.
October is actually my favorite month too (got married during it with a Fall themed wedding) and for this reason I'm already counting the days and reading back through last Fall's style blogs so I can get even more excited at all the clothes I'll be getting to wear in the not-too-distant future!
