Pet Peeve

Jacket: Collection via TJMaxx, $30 (purchased with gift card) // Sweater: Gap, $28 // Belt: Forever 21, $3.50 // Shoes: Lucky Brand, courtesy of Lucky Magazine // Scarf: Courtesy of LOFT

One of my biggest clothing pet peeves is pilling! This morning, I was sad to find my big Gap sweater riddled with those pesky little fuzzies. The cool, gloomy day gave me such a strong desire to wear something cozy, that I overlooked it this time.

  5. hihihi. my hairstylist totally gave me a bowl cut yesterday and it made me think of you.

and i also hate when i get fuzzy fuzz balls all over my sweaters. i bought one of those silly clothing shavers so i can always get rid of them before i leave the house!

  7. Ugh, pilling is the worst. And I almost always just ignore it and wear the sweater anyway, and then feel off all day.

But you look marv! I love those shoes and the scarf especially.

  8. I use a really cheap ladies bic razor to "shave" my sweaters and certain shirts when they start to pill up. It's a cheap alternative and if you have a light hand with it, you shouldn't create any holes.

  12. That is one of my pet peeves also. It's so annoying when you have an adorable sweater/ sweater dress that pills up! I love your outfit though:)

  14. The best thing I ever bought was this $5 clothes shaver from the drugstore...I use it all of the time. They still sell them and they last forever mine is like 8 years old and it still works...just look in by the detergents and stuff, or maybe in the little gadget section.

  18. Yes, there is truly nothing worse than pilling. This outfit though, is totally fab, and you cannot see the pilling in the pics! Love the neutrals all together. Looks very cosy.

I like to buy thrifted sweaters because then I know that they DON'T pill (of course I wouldn't buy a pre-pilled sweater,,;-).

  21. A pumice stone works well too! I bought one called a sweater stone at Jo-Ann's not that long ago and it has been my best friend all season long, lol.

Oh, and I know you're in the Lawrence area, but I'm in the Manhattan area, and I have my lil' sis visiting soon and I was wondering if you could maybe recommend a few cool places to check out in Lawrence (shops, food, etc.)? I'd really appreciate it, thanks! : )

  25. I'm in agreement with calivintage et al - get your hands on a fabric shaver if you can (they're not that expensive). That sweater looks too pretty to waste!

  26. Pilling does suck. You'd think they'd invent a fix for it by now.

I adore that scarf so so much! Prettyness!

  29. Hey lady, every single Kansan should own an electric pill shaver. We wear our sweaters out, and a pill shaver will prolong a sweater's life.
