Short & Sweet

Body con dress (worn as shirt): H&M, $22 // Skirt: Target, $20 // Necklace: Fred Flare, $11 // Belt: Thrifted, $2 // Shoes: Payless

Now that the temperature is rising, I'm starting to realize how short some of my skirts are! Because I'm petite, I do prefer higher hemlines, but I have to keep it reasonable for work. I bought this floral number from Target a couple of months ago and had never worn it without tights. It wasn't till after my morning haziness subsided that I realized I was showing a little too much leg. Luckily, the elastic waist allowed me to yank it down a few inches till five. Then it went right back up.

  6. I've been wanting to wear a skirt for so long, but since I'm not really one to wear skirts on an everyday basis, I chickened out. I'm gonna try again soon!

Also, I got excited when I read your post because when I saw the picture I knew immediately where you got the skirt! I love Target! :D I love this outfit. It's pretty much my dream outfit. :D

  8. I'm wearing almost the same shoes with a skirt that is much longer than I'm used to. Actually it's a dress but then, so is yours ;)

    Pictures up tonight.

  9. May I just say: I adored this outfit the moment I saw it? The perfect florals matched with the perfect thin stripes, lovely. :) I usually prefer higher hemlines as well, but those aren't always apprpriate for classes... woops.

  24. You are so cute in this!

Yeah, what the what with how short skirts in stores are lately? I'm 5'7" and I have alot of expanse between my waist and my knees.

  25. Love how you paired the stripes with the floral - and that skirt is ahhmazing!

  26. I know exactly what you mean! I'm petite and have really short legs, so I like high waistlines, but I always find skirts to short. I don't know, maybe I'm just a prude, but I think 10cm above the knee is short enough!

  27. I feel the exact same way about skirts. Sometimes I just feel totally swallowed up even in knee-length ones. This is totally darling, though!

  31. I love this outfit, the combination of the stripes and floral is so pretty! Now I'm wishing I owned a floral skirt.

I know what you mean about the hemline, I can't wear a lot of my winter skirts to work without tights.

  32. This outfit is absolute perfection. I especially love your skirt and shoes.

  33. I LOOOOVE this! I really wanted that skirt, but passed because of the length. Boo!

  34. lol i have the exact same problem! it's made even worse by the super windiness. all skirts should have shorts sewn inside

  35. Cause you're scandalous like that!
    Love the pattern mixology!

  36. ooh, you look so fab! you always combine your stuff so perfect. you´re an inspiration!!! :-)

  37. You look so cute! I have that same H&M tunic in purple, but I don't like it as much as the B&W version.

I'm finding that I'm having the same problem lately with my skirts and dresses.

  38. Hehe, I know what you mean about short skirts, I'm like, have I grown, I don't remember this being so short? You feel more covered up in tights. I find myself constantly pulling down my skirts at work, too! But I love that you paired this with stripes, I have the same skirt and putting it with a striped shirt is a great idea, thanks!

  40. Wow I really love that skirt, it looks great on you!

I also understand about the short skirt thing, I always have that realization when I take off my tights come spring.

Luckily I wear a uniform to work, so when I wear my skirts, its okay if their a little short!

  42. i love this outfit. love the mix of floral with stripes, and the hair cut of course. isn't it funny when you cut your hair short and then it just keeps getting shorter and shorter?

anyway, i admire your ability to make outfits out of mostly separates. i am a dress girl all the way because they look best on my figure and don't need to be matched with anything, but i really enjoy the way you put different pieces together!
