Salute to Style

Top: Forever 21, $18 // Pants: H&M, $20 // Jacket: Hang Ten via Kohl's, $30 // Boots: Target, $35 // Necklace: Forever 21, $5 // Bracelet: Payless

Fall was in the air yesterday, so I decided to give a couple of seasonal trends a spin: over-the-knee boots and a military-style cropped anorak. While I experimented a bit with ultra tall boots last season, I'm still having a bit of trouble styling them. I think I've decided that with my stature, they look best with similarly hued tights and a short skirt or dress rather than with jeans or pants. How do you feel about over-the-knee boots?

    Agree on the OTK boots. I feel that I am too short to wear them well.

    I have those exact boots and I'm not sure how I like them yet, either. I'm 5'7" and I feel they might be stumpifying me! I'm waiting for the temps to dip to try them again.

    I wish I could wear OTK boots, but I'm too short and curvy I think. I have to stick with my Frye Harness types. I think you look super tall, sultry, and fabulous in them.

    To anyone who's wondering: I'm short - 5'2". When I wear these with regular jeans, they make me look really stumpy, but with black pants or dark tights / leggings, I think they work. While this trend probably looks best on tall ladies, I'm definitely not one to let that stop me!

    I love otk boots and think you styled them perfectly here. But alas, I'll have to leave this trend to you youngins. I think past 40 this look would be silly.

    I think the boots look great on other people (like you!) but I will abstain from this trend as I am of short leg and rather "robust" thighs. I will stick to more flattering boot styles for my body type. But they look great on you!
