Who wants to humor me and my silly indecisiveness? While I know this choice is pretty inconsequential, I thought it would be fun to put it up for a vote! I recently ordered these pumps online and can't decide whether to keep them. When I added them to my shopping cart, I thought I had credit. Turns out I didn't, and I bought them anyway! I usually have a strong reaction to items I receive in the mail, but I can go either way on these. Also, they were an expensive (for me) impulse buy, which is leaving me with a lingering feeling of guilt. I'm usually quite deliberate with my pricier purchases.
PROS
-I own very few pairs of pumps because I usually go for statement styles. These are classic yet unusual at the same time because of the heel. Business in the front, party in the back, if you will!
-They are better quality shoes than what I usually buy, so they will probably last longer and be more comfortable.
-They will fit in nicely with my fall wardrobe. A pair of red pumps was on my seasonal shopping list, and these could fill that need.
CONS
-While they are a nicer brand than my usual fare, I'm not that impressed with the craftsmanship. There's glue visible in a couple of places, and the leather smells bad.
-They're a little bit odd looking, no? I just wonder if these would become a staple, or if I would tire of them quickly.
-I might be able to find something I truly adore for the money I spent rather than something I'm so-so about.
Okay, wise readers, weigh in if you like!
They're really cute and I can see you wearing them (a plus!) but if you have any second thoughts on them I don't think you should keep them. Save that money for something you will LOVE!!! and not kinda love.
ReplyDeleteMy shopping philosophy is: if you're not in love with it, it's not for you.
ReplyDeleteSo...this is a hard one for me. I always want to keep all shoes. Forever! and for always! But, I think if you have second thoughts about them then you should send em back and use that money to buy something (or somethings) you are totally in love with. I think these shoes are awesome. Classic, but with unusual touches which could keep them in your closet for life. But, you should be in love with everything in your closet, and while love can grow over time...I don't think the shoes feelings will be hurt if you send them back :)
ReplyDeleteI concur with Em-Jae...if you're considering that you don't love them, then save the money for something you do!

I love these and I think they are classic & make a statement all at once. I'm probably not a good person to ask though, because I've been obsessed with chunky heels lately, and I can never find any. Also, I love this outfit, especially with the shoes.
ReplyDeleteIDK, I don't subscribe to having to be in love w/something to buy it or keep it. Sometimes you're unsure and then the item grows on you and you end up loving it. How do these shoes fit in w/your wardrobe? Do they blend in seamlessly or do you have to search for things to pair them with? I think that's more important than being thrilled with them. You can be in love w/something but it doesn't fit with anything you currently own, so you'll end up spending more money on new clothes to match your shoes! Sorry for the long comment. I hope I was somewhat helpful.
I say if you're not in love with them send them back. Then head downtown to Foxtrot and see if they have any styles you can't live without!
ReplyDeleteOh this is a tough one. Maybe you'll grow to like them more later on? I know that's happened to me on more than one occasion with certain items in my closet. Do you have another pair of pumps that are in any way similar? If so, I'd probably sell these ones here. And if you end up finding something that you absolutely LOVE that's in the same price range, definitely get that instead!
ReplyDeleteIf you're not in love with them, return them and wait for a pair you are - you'll get more wear out of them.
ReplyDelete*I* love them, though. The heel is fabulous.
they're definitely super cute- that heel? i die!- but if you're not head over heels (no pun intended) for them, then send 'em back. plus, glue showing and smelly leather? sayonara!
ReplyDeleteThey are so gorgeous! But I voted no, if you can see the glue thats bad...and I have a feeling if the leather already smells, it probably won't go away. So sad because they are so chic!
ReplyDeleteI think you should return them. The second you doubt or feel guilty about it return it!
ReplyDeleteI say return them. If you aren't in love with them now it probably is a sign!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think that shoes are pieces of art and not a fake. If I know there's glue showing, then it's not for me.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit!

I love those shoes on you and they are so quirky yet classic. I'd keep them. I own a couple of FarylRobin shoes and they are very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI think they are interesting yet subtle, but if you spent money that's irking you, I'd say take them back and hold out for something you really have to have

I really like them they're cute and unusaul! But if you are in doubt don't keep them...If in doubt don't buy!
ReplyDeleteMy philosophy is to never settle on expensive pieces. I return a ton of stuff I order in the mail because I hate feeling guilty about the price. If it's not worth the money and you think something can make you happier, don't keep them.

I voted yes, because I love the heel and the color. Very practical yet unique. Looks like you belong on the Mad Men set! But if you don't love them, return them :)

I vote no, only because if you have to question an item already, that should be an answer in itself. If you're looking for your readers for confirmation to keep them, I say no. Love them because you fell in love with them not because you're so-so on them. You have killer style, whatever you decide will be best for you.
ReplyDeleteThey are very cute! But your cons are too important to ignore, I think.
ReplyDeleteI mostly get my shoes quite cheep, and while they don't last more than a season or two that is ok by me because I tend to get tired of them by then.
I have pricy snow boots (that have lasted for years!) and a $50 pair of black leather flats. All other shoes are $15 or less in my closet
Never settle for so-so - especially if you spent more than you normally would on them! Go with what you really want and love! :)
