It's Been Awhile

Dress: Anna Sui for Target, $10 // Shoes: Forever 21, $25 // Ring: Courtesy of InPink // Jacket: Vintage, gift // Scarf: Gift

Hello out there! Sorry for the prolonged absence. I have been in major vacation mode and haven't even been taking outfit pictures. Luckily, I had these shots from last week lying around. Lately I've been reaching for this dress when I need to get ready super quickly. It has enough going on that you can get away with minimal accessorizing. Plus, when worn without a belt, it's super comfortable. I love go-to pieces like that.

Hope your holiday was wonderful!

Fit to Print

Dress: H&M, $20 // Socks: Forever 21, $3 // Boots: Target, gift // Necklace: Thrifted, $3 // Ring: jcpenney, $6

I love the warm colors, interesting print and drapey silhouette of this dress. It feels summery and wintery at the same time, so I may just have to wear it year-round!

Holiday Best

Dress: H&M, $20 // Shoes: Forever 21, $25 // Necklace: Antique shop, $12 // Ring: Courtesy of InPink

Usually I go all out for Christmas, but this year it's really creeping up on me! Since I didn't end up hosting anything and wasn't invited to any formal gatherings, I decided to dress up for my office's holiday happy hour. Even if it was at three in the afternoon, I thoroughly enjoyed donning a festive dress. I can't wait to get fancy for New Year's!

Tried & True

Sweater: Target, $10 // Skirt: Urban, $6 // Socks: Forever 21, $2.50 // Boots: Target, gift // Necklace: Vintage, $6

Sometimes when I can't figure out what to wear, I'll just take a bunch of components you can't go wrong with and throw them together. In this case, that was black and white stripes, chambray, a little color for good measure and a pretty necklace. Nothing groundbreaking, but it worked for me!

Weekend Uniform

Top: Forever 21, $17 // Jeans: Urban, gift // Boots: Wild Man Vintage, $16 // Necklace: Thrifted, $2 // Ring: jcpenney, $6

My go-to outfit of late has been a top with pretty details, jeans, boots and a couple of customary statement accessories to complete the look. This new blouse almost had me convinced with its ruffles and festive hue, but the back was definitely the kicker for me. I'm such a sucker for any kind of open back detail. On a more general note, I know posting has been rather lackluster around here, and I wanted to thank you for bearing with me! I've been feeling a bit off in terms of inspiration and motivation. These spells tend to come and go for me, so I'm doing my best till it passes. Maybe the new year will kick me into gear!

Sunflower

Shirt: Lulu's, $10 after credit // Shorts: H&M, $25 // Shoes: Old Navy, $15 // Ring: jcpenney, $6

Kansas City got an H&M at last! While I didn't clean up during my first visit, I did snag these cute brocade shorts. I also met a very sweet reader, which is always a treat!

Dinomite

Shirt: Thrifted, $2 // Jacket: Forever 21, $10 // Jeans: Gap, purchased with credit // Belt: Thrifted, $1 // Ring: Courtesy of InPink

This ruffled blouse may look normal, but from my vantage point, the neck detail totally reminds me of the spitting dinosaur from Jurassic Park. I always think about dinosaurs when I wear it. Not a bad thing.

Close Enough

Shirt: Urban Outfitters, $10 // Sweater: LOFT, swapped // Trousers: GAP, purchased with credit // Shoes: Thrifted, $2 // Ring: Courtesy of InPink // Necklace: Forever 21, $10

Inspired by an outfit from the most recent J.Crew catalog, I was determined to wear a button-up, sweater and necklace in the same color. Unfortunately, my only option was an obnoxious combination of pinks. While I may very well sport that ensemble later, it was a bit too much for me at such an early hour. I opted for a more subtle pairing of whites and beiges. I'll have to work up to the Pepto-Bismol explosion!
