Birthday Dress

Dress: Urban Outfitters, $79 // Shoes: Forever 21, $25 // Belt: Thrifted, $1 // Necklace: Wild Man Vintage, $11

I had the day off work on my birthday, so I decided to do a little shopping. Determined to treat myself to something I wouldn't normally buy, I scoured Anthropologie and J.Crew with no luck at all. Ending up at Urban -- an old standby -- I allowed myself to venture beyond the sale rack. It was love at first sight when I spotted this yellow lace number, but I had a very hard time justifying the cost. It's kind of against my retail religion to pay full price at Urban because I don't feel the quality warrants the price. I ended up going for it, and after wearing it out for an evening of Mexican food, margaritas and bowling, I knew it was a keeper. Now let's just hope I don't see it on the sale rack in a month.

Hopefully I'm not boring you all too much with my bee necklace. Ever since putting it on a new chain, I can't help but wear it pretty much every day.

A little embarrassed when my roomie caught me posing with a flower.

So cute. That's the kind of dress I normally walk away from and then regret not buying later. Kudos to you for going for it and happy birthday!

This dress is lovely! I'm always hesitant to buy things full price at Urban, too, because without fail, if I wait long enough, they always go on sale.

that dress is so precious, especially with the flower.

I'm trying to get over the embarrassment of taking pictures outdoors,(even without flowers) but already i've found myself finding places to hide from my neighbors and running if i see someone. i think it's something i'll just have to force myself to do.

You look so beautiful Katy!! And your birthday celebration sounds like so much fun :) That dress is stunning as a birthday dress and will be a classic, also fun to remix as a top or a skirt!! And no, I could never tire of that bee necklace, it is too kitschy chic not to love!!

Happy happy birthday!!

This dress is AMAZING, I can see why you'd even pay full price for it. I love the colour and lace, so great with those tights

Happy birthday! And you know you're a good shopper when paying full price is painful. Gotta treat yourself once in a while or you'll go crazy! It's a beautiful dress and looks like it was a smart splurge. :)

I'm the same way when it comes to sale vs full price items.. I usually can't justify the expense. But sometimes you just have to indulge yourself, especially for your birthday! :) But it looks great on you, and I think the bee necklace and flower poses are both very beautiful. :)
