Hot Mess

The other morning I woke up wanting to wear a monochromatic or tonal outfit, so I combed my closet looking for matching separates. Despite having quite a colorful collection of clothes, I came away with only two pairings -- one blue and one orange. I went with the blues but felt happy in the combination. I was not so happy when I reviewed these pictures. Between my unforgivably wrinkly skirt and dreadfully windblown hair, this is not my best work!

Some Like It Hot

This appears to be a reasonable summer outfit, but it was far too steamy for sleeves today! While the breeze did provide some relief, it may be time to succumb to summer.

Team Player

Between my casual striped tee and athletic-inspired wedges, I actually felt slightly sporty today. Well, as sporty as this girl gets anyway.

Color Block Party

This colorful combination was inspired by a couple of new additions to my closet. First up, these bold fuchsia skinnies from Gracie B. Boutique! I think it's safe to say they have taken the title of most comfortable pants in my closet. They feel like wearing leggings but look like proper pants. Secondly, these gorgeous sandals. It was love at first sight when I spotted them. Between the minimal silhouette, chunky '60s heel and color blocking, they combine several of my favorite shoe trends of the season.

With my sassy '80s side pony, coordinating shirt, shoes and lips, and not-so-subtle nautical motif (you can't even see my anchor earrings), I felt almost obnoxious in this outfit. But, hey, sometimes when the mood strikes, you gotta go with it, and this is exactly what I felt like wearing yesterday.

Snow White

I usually don't allow myself to purchase white clothing. Between my general clumsiness, inability to do laundry correctly and strong dislike of bleach, my whites inevitably end up with stains or dinginess. This pretty little dress, however, had too many of my favorite details to pass up: dainty lace, a high neckline, an open back. Plus, little white dresses always feel so fresh during the warmer months. I'll just have to enjoy it till I destroy it!
