As someone who has an obnoxiously hard time letting go of stuff, I'm trying to evaluate my closet with a ruthless, discerning eye. There have been a few instances, however, that I've seen potential in an old garment. This sort of drab shirt dress (last seen here) is one example. After snipping the sleeves off, it feels much more of-the-moment, and the necklace almost seems like part of the dress! Do you have any tricks for revitalizing old stuff, or do you just get rid of it when you're bored?
Dress: Old Navy (altered by me)

I have this same dress and I never wear it but I'm stealing your idea because it's much cuter sleeveless!
ReplyDelete@Tootsweet - Awesome! I highly recommend it. No regrets here! :)

Love the necklace!!
ReplyDeleteLove that you changed something in your closet. I hate getting sick of wearing the same items over and over again. I'm going to try to change some items of mine too :)

This is a great look on you, and love the pony. And if you're going through this cleaning out of the closet phase - please feel free to send that necklace my way. Ahem. Ahem. ;)

This does look really amazing without sleeves! Love the cute safari feel it has...but it's still totally chic. I've definitely taken up skirts, worn dresses as shirts, and etc to get them to look new and different!

I am completely guilty of selling my clothes when I get bored at Plato's in Lawrence so then I end up with new cloths for basically free.
ReplyDeleteThe necklace makes the outfit pop! Love it!
